Wreaths Across America

On Memorial Day I had the opportunity to help with a Wreaths Across America fundraiser that as sponsored by the Catholic War Veterans Okla. Memorial Post 168 in Del City. I played Taps for visitors at Sunny Lane Cemetery and encouraged them to make donations to the Wreaths Across America project.

On December 13th, 2014, cemeteries across Oklahoma and the nation will be holding wreath-laying ceremonies to pay tribute to fallen heroes and those who have served.

Youth Trumpet & Taps Corps members are encouraged to volunteer to play Taps at the December ceremonies and assist with wreath-laying.

To find a location near you, visit the Wreaths Across America website and search for a local fundraising group and contact a local coordinator to volunteer.

Don’t forget to let us know you are volunteering so we can track your hours towards the President’s Volunteer Service Award.
