Who We Are

Youth Trumpet & Taps Corps is a service organization with a mission to train, support, and recognize high school trumpet players who use their musical gifts to honor military veterans at funerals and community events. Many veterans receive an audio recording of Taps because there are not enough military buglers to attend every funeral. Out of respect for their service to our country, we feel that veterans' Final Honors are more worthy of a live rendition of our National Song of Remembrance. Youth Trumpet & Taps Corps was founded by Katie Prior in 2014 as her Girl Scout Gold Award project and has since grown to include student volunteers across the country.

about us
What We Do
Taps for Veterans

Our volunteers are available to sound Taps at military and public servant funerals in lieu of an audio recording when a professional military bugler is not available.

Salute to Service

Our volunteers are available for performances of branch of service songs and Taps at wreath layings, memorial events, and ceremonies honoring veterans.

Organizational Projects

We provide support to volunteers through workshops and online training. We also provide recognition awards to volunteers for their dedication to honoring our nation's heroes.

How We Do It

Youth Trumpet & Taps Corps Association, being an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is totally dependent on the general public for donations in order to provide training, support, and recognition to high school trumpet players who serve in communities across the country.
Contributions to Youth Trumpet & Taps Corps Association (Fed Tax ID: 47-2665313) are taxdeductible as defined under section 170(b)(1) (A)(vi) of the Internal Revenue Code. Pleasenote specific tax-deductible-related questions should be discussed with the donor's personal tax advisor.
